Not a 3 in 1 unless you have a Suburban February 25, 2010

My wife and I loved this car seat, so she put it on the registry. I read a lot of the reviews here about it being too big in a lot of cars for the rear-seating configuration. I'm an average sized guy, and have a BMW X5, so I thought there would be more than enough room to recline the baby seat to the level position necessary for the rearward configuration in the middle seat. Even with the rear seats of the car fully back and with the front seats forward a couple of inches (already not the best for me driving), it still didn't fit. It'll fit on the rear passenger side with the front seat cranked forward quite a ways, but we want to put the baby seat in the middle, not on the sides. So I guess we'll use our Graco traveler seat until the baby is big enough to use this in the forward position. Kinda defeats the purpose of getting a 3 in 1 in the first place.
